Today I want to discuss Street Glide versus Road Glide. Most people have a clear favorite between the two bikes and some either love or hate one or the other. I personally like the Street Glide over the Road Glide but I still enjoy the Road Glide’s style.
I have recently traded in a 2007 Street Glide for my 2011 Road Glide. I have put about 500 miles on the Road Glide since purchase. I had put about 5000 miles on the Street Glide in the year I owned it. In my opinion, I believe the Road Glide offers better wind protection than the Street Glide.
Dan I have both and consider the roadglide a better ride for me but the street glide also has its pros. The road glide at 120 mph is glued to the ground, like its on rails. The street glide is ok at speed but you get a little wiggle from the fairing not being fixed. The street glide has much less wind buffeting and more wind protection.
I am probably in the market for a new bike (depending on insurance company) and right now I thought I definitely wanted a Street Glide but I keep looking at Road Glides.
Even though the road glide is really growing on me, I've got to say street glide, unless maybe you're looking at 2015s, then the new RG is pretty darn awesome. But the street is just the quintessential Harley, you can't go wrong.
